Drawing my heroes

My name is ALD, artist, illustrator and graphic designer, based near Lyon (France).
I have always loved drawing, ever since I was a child.
Self-taught, I learned to draw by copying my comic book and manga heroes.
Later, while studying graphic communication, I took classes in drawing (anatomy, still life, portraiture, painting, etc.).
Much later, I attended a workshop that offered life drawing with nude models.
There are also networks, an inexhaustible source of inspiration, tutorials, photos, advice, dialogue and exchange between artists to help you develop your skills.
And, of course, regular practice.

Fascinating worlds

It was just before adolescence that I became interested in BDSM and fetishistic drawings.
I was completely hooked when I saw my first images of naked women wearing nothing but high heels.
Or when I excitedly leafed through the comic strips of the erotic/horror series Necron, by Magnus (aka Roberto Raviola). I was fascinated!
Later, as I grew up, I became increasingly attracted to erotic comic book authors such as Milo Manara and Serpieri, then to the BDSM and fetish genre, with artists such as Eric Stanton, John Willie, Gene Bilbrew, Rémy, Xavier Duvet, Sardax, Nanshakh... and more recently, Hector Domiane, Loviante, Ken The Drawer... The dominatrixes, goddesses, high heel collectors, of course, who, along with the artists, enrich my fantastical universe.
They are all so depraved, I love them!

Brutal women with delicate features

For the drawings, I take my inspiration from
Eric Stanton's illustrations for the substance.
Some of this artist's drawings have left a lasting impression on me, because Stanton had a talent for creating scenes of female domination with girls who often came from working-class backgrounds, girls you might meet on the street in your everyday life.
I like the idea that my neighbour across the hall, a girl at a bus stop or in a queue, my baker, a colleague at work, a receptionist... a girl who looks ‘normal’ suddenly becomes, because of an (usually) intrusive man, a brutal dominatrix determined to reduce him to slavery and humiliate him. I'm not talking about a sudden fit of hysteria here; the girl doesn't go crazy! It's more like a person who ‘switches’, going from being an adorable girl to a trained, unhinged, brutal fighter determined to humiliate the tactless man, not without feeling immense pleasure.
It is also often powerful, wealthy women who abuse poor men or women. I am not making this up; the dominant/dominated relationship, the fact that a wealthy class dominates the lower classes, is a recurring theme in the BDSM world.
I also like scenes of public humiliation, if there can be witnesses to this fabulous spectacle!

For the style, I am inspired by Milo Manara's drawings. His style is simple, spontaneous and extremely effective, and his girls are sublime!

A ‘highly central figure’

As I am also a fetishist for high-heeled shoes, I draw a lot of boots, thigh-high boots, high heels, sandals and mules.
High-heeled shoes are THE central theme of the drawings, with which the woman, the dominatrix, tramples, crushes, strikes... High heels are THE central subject that the slave, the submissive, licks, kisses, worships, and under which he suffers. High heels are not just a simple accessory, they are THE main character in a scene of domination involving three, four or even more people...
